There are many levels of competition in archery from club target days through to the Olympics and World Championships and in all types of archery.  In addition although different bow types and ladies and gentlemen do not compete directly in competitions, they can indirectly  through handicap competitions.

The major levels of competitions are described below:- 

Club Target Days
These competitions are held within an Archery Club

 

Open Club Tournaments
These competitions are generally advertised or publicised in some way and are open to all archers.  Quite often details may be found in Archery UK, or on the clubs web site, or by word of mouth or quite often details are available at local Archery shops.  Quite often they are for a recognised round such as York/Hereford but may also be for a local round or a particular format which has local relevance. 
Record Status Tournaments
These competitions are of a more formal nature in that they are adhere to specified standards..
International Tournaments
 
These competitions are generally advertised or publicised in some way and are open to all archers.
Handicap Competitions
 
These competitions are generally advertised or publicised in some way and are open to all archers.
Head to Head Competitions
 
These competitions are generally advertised or publicised in some way and are open to all archers.
