British Archery Clubs

Here is an attempt to bring together Links to all the Web Sites of British Archery Clubs

In general the Archery Clubs are listed on the GNAS Website - GNAS - Clubs - The lists are arranged by County and include clubs of all types, in particular not only clubs formed by groups of archers which, in general, are open to everyone but also clubs that are associated with commercial archery establishments, sports clubs and organisations such as the Civil Service, Hospitals and Police Forces.  There are also two other significant groups of clubs which are closed: schools and universities.

Many clubs also have sections for junior and disabled archers.  Where it is known that these exist, they are indicated.

There are more than 800 clubs and in any such groups of organisations, there are new clubs being formed, clubs fragment and some fall by the way side.  Clubs are also listed on the regional and county web sites and for various reasons those lists do not agree with GNAS.  Web sites may also be poorly maintained and contain incorrect information.  Clubs can also change their URL or let them fall into abeyance.

An attempt is also made to show the location of clubs by Google Maps for each county.  This is more fraught than making a list of clubs.  In general, clubs have one or more indoor locations and one or more outdoor locations and some have field courses as well.  Only one location is shown for each club and the one selected is invariably the easiest to place.  Locations are also approximate, although every effort has been made to indicate the location as well as possible, they should be treated with caution.

Where the club has a web site then they often (but not always) have a location map which specifies where they shoot however there are a few which even then can only be located with local knowledge.  There are a number of sports web sites or county resources that may or may not have locations either of the club but which could actually be the location of the club secretary.  A judgement has to be made as to whether the location obtained from these sources would be accurate and helpful.

Archery clubs also may also be members of other groupings such as the British Longbow Societies or Field Archery Associations.

Therefore if you know of more clubs, locations or would like to correct any errors that I have made then please e-mail me at
